Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling Company, LLC is seeking a Rig Manager to oversee all daily rig operations, supervise the crew, and ensure safety and efficiency. The role involves planning drilling activities, coordinating with customers, and maintaining equipment with a focus on incident-free operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, strong communication, and an analytical mindset, with the ability to resolve operational issues and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Must promote safe work practices and incident-free operations.
• English proficiency adequate for understanding instructions and directing crews.
• Willingness to travel to remote locations on a 14 on/14 off rotation; 12.5 hour shifts; weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure safety of all onsite personnel and minimize rig downtime.
• Supervise, direct and train drilling rig crew; enforce safety and operational procedures.
• Manage rig operations, production, maintenance, costs and personnel to meet business objectives.
• Conduct and promote Rig Inspections and continuous improvement of rig and equipment.
• Coordinate with Customer representatives to foster productive partnerships.
• Lead pre- and post-tour meetings and manage crew fit-for-duty evaluations.
• Plan daily rig operations with Driller and Customer representative.
• Fill in for Driller or other rig-based employees as needed.
• Maintain rig paperwork and daily reports; oversee housekeeping duties.
