Job summary

Boart Longyear is seeking a Surface RC Driller Assistant in the United States to support drilling crews on demanding projects, handling supplies, mixing drilling fluids and assisting with rod handling. You will work closely with a field team dedicated to safety and productivity.

Expect 14–20 day shifts with 7–10 days off, ample overtime, and company‑funded PPE plus boot allowance. Opportunities to advance toward Driller Assistant and Field Supervisor roles are available as you gain

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel by plane or car to worksites across Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and beyond.
• Must be able to commute long distances for shifts (300+ miles).
• Must pass background and drug screenings and a Physical Functional Fitness Evaluation.
• Minimum of 1 year of directly related drilling experience or related labor roles.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and U.S. Work Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Hauling supplies to and from the drill site.
• Manual material handling.
• Mixing drilling fluids.
• Making connections – Adding/Removing rods to/from drill string.
• Sample Collection – Ensure bags/cores are labeled correctly, in numeric order, and securely closed.
• Building chip trays.
• Assist in rigging up/down and moving to new drill locations.
• Fueling of site equipment and conducting preventative maintenance.
• Complete daily site inspections and pre‑shift checks on equipment.
• Provide site inductions to visitors.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory.
• General condition and lifespan optimization for site equipment and tooling.
• Other duties as assigned by Driller/Field Supervisor.
