Job summary

Boart Longyear is seeking a Sonic Driller Assistant to support drilling crews across multiple sites in the western United States. The role offers paid training and a clear progression path from assistant to driller and supervisor.

Expect hands-on work with drilling equipment, routine maintenance, and safety‑driven operations. Competitive pay, overtime, and benefits accompany a strong emphasis on safety and skill development.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to worksites throughout multiple states including NV, UT, AZ, CO and beyond.
• Able to commute long distances (300+ miles) for shifts.
• Will work in remote locations and all weather elements.
• Long 12+ hour shifts over 14-20 days at a time.
• Must hold a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Hauling supplies to and from the drill site.
• Manual material handling.
• Mixing drilling fluids.
• Adding/removing rods to/from drill string.
• Sample collection and labeling in numeric order.
• Build chip trays.
• Assist in rigging up/down and moving to new locations.
• Fueling site equipment and performing basic maintenance.
• Complete daily site and pre-shift inspections.
• Provide site inductions to visitors.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory.
• Support training of new driller assistants when needed.
