Job summary

Boart Longyear Drilling Services is seeking a Coring Driller Assistant to join our field crews across multiple western states. You’ll provide semi-skilled labor, assist with rigging and operations, and help maintain site safety and equipment.

Expect 12+ hour shifts over 14–20 days with substantial overtime and on-the-job training. Paid training from MSHA to First Aid is provided; there is a clear path from Driller Assistant to Field Supervisor with pay milestones.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to sites across multiple states.
• Able to commute long distances for shifts (12+ hour days, 14–20 days).
• Willing to work in remote locations and all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and work authorization.
• Must pass background, drug screening, and fitness evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Provide semi-skilled labor for drilling crews and operate various equipment.
• Haul supplies to drill sites and manage drill string connections.
• Collect samples, label bags/cores, and maintain order and security.
• Assist in rigging, moving to new locations, and basic site maintenance.
• Conduct routine site and equipment inspections and inductions for visitors.
