Job summary

Strongwell Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a hands-on shop floor technician to operate drill and notcher equipment, following precise production prints and orders to prepare parts.

You will work closely with Production Control to determine hole positions and cut lengths, perform quality checks on drilled bars, and compile data for quality control and scrap management.

Overtime may be required to meet production needs; adherence to company policies and safety rules is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience operating metalworking equipment is desirable.
• Ability to follow prints and orders from Production Control.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the drill.
• Set up and operate the notcher.
• Follow prints and production orders to determine part preparation.
• Perform quality checks on drilled bars.
• Compile data for quality control and scrap management.

Job description

• Set up and operate the drill.
• Set up and operate the notcher.
• Follow prints and orders from Production Control to determine the type of product needed and how it is to be prepared (cut to length, position of holes to be drilled, etc.) before passing on to GFL, Fabrication or Shipping.
• Know how to do quality checks on drilled bars.
• Compile data as trained to assist in quality control and scrap management.
• Work overtime as business needs require.
• Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
• Comply with Strongwell guidelines, rules, and procedures as contained in the Employee Handbook and miscellaneous memos.
