Job summary

Gator Dredging is seeking a Booster Pump Operator/Oiler to support dredging operations. Requires at least 2 years of booster pump experience and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, with travel as needed. OSHA or equipment certifications are a plus, and candidates must have reliable transportation to the job site.

The role involves starting and monitoring pumps, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Medical, dental, and retirement benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 2 years of booster pump operating experience in dredging.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
• Must be able to travel.
• OSHA Certification a plus.
• Boating or Equipment Certifications a plus.
• Provide your own reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet).
• Be honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and have the attitude to get the job done.

Responsibilities

• Start, monitor, and stop barge-mounted or land-based booster pumps to assist dredging operations.
• Adjust pump speeds to match inlet pressures and prevent cavitation.
• Lubricate moving parts to reduce friction and wear.
• Perform routine inspections of booster pumps.
• Monitor and maintain oil levels in pumps and reservoirs.
• Replace worn-out or damaged parts to keep operations going.
• Assist in installation and setup of new booster pumps.
• Document maintenance activities and report issues to supervisors.
• Keep work areas clean and safe for efficient operations.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned for Operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
