Job summary

C&M Dredging is seeking a dependable dredge oiler/maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of dredging equipment on site in New York. You will monitor engines, pumps, and hydraulic systems, support repairs, and keep safety as a top priority.

Responsibilities include lubricating equipment, documenting maintenance reports, and working with engineers and deck crews while following OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dredge Oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance required.
• MSHA/OSHA certification a plus.
• Must pass background check and drug test.

Job description

Performed preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and other dredging equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitored machinery performance, conducted routine inspections, identified mechanical issues, and assisted with repairs to minimize downtime. Maintained fluid levels, changed filters, cleaned equipment, and kept accurate maintenance records. Worked closely with engineers, mechanics, and deck crews while following company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout practices.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dredge Oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance required
• Mechanical aptitude
• Reliable transportation
• Driver's License
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
• MSHA/OSHA certification a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must pass a background check and drug test
