Job summary

C&M Dredging is seeking a Dredge Oiler or marine/heavy equipment maintenance person on a full-time, on-site basis in Florida. You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor performance, and assist with repairs to minimize downtime, while adhering to MSHA/OSHA guidelines and company safety practices.

Qualified candidates will have dredge/oil experience, mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and pass a background/drug test.

• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

• Lubricate and maintain dredge and booster equipment and on-site heavy equipment.
• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor engines, pumps, and mechanical systems.
• Document daily maintenance activities and reports.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.

Job description

Performed preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and other dredging equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitored machinery performance, conducted routine inspections, identified mechanical issues, and assisted with repairs to minimize downtime. Maintained fluid levels, changed filters, cleaned equipment, and kept accurate maintenance records. Worked closely with engineers, mechanics, and deck crews while following company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout practices.

• Work effectively as part of the C&M Family
• Document daily equipment maintenance reports

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dredge Oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance required
• Mechanical aptitude
• Reliable transportation
• Driver's License
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
• MSHA/OSHA certification a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must pass a background check and drug test
