City of Virginia Beach Public Works Department is seeking a Motor Equipment Operator III/Leverman to operate the dredging vessel Rudee II and related support vessels, performing dredging, pipeline transfers, and equipment maintenance in Rudee Inlet.

Qualified applicants will have dredge operation experience, the ability to operate heavy equipment (backhoe, bulldozer, crane), and a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required, with a 40-hour work week and potential overtime during

Qualifications

• Requires completion of the tenth grade and three years experience operating motor equipment.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate the dredging vessel and support boats to excavate and transfer material.
• Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, bulldozer, forklift, excavator, crane) in dredging operations.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and maintain logs; ensure PPE usage and safety practices.
