Job description

Drayage Transportation Assistant - Needed To Coordinate Every Container Move

You're the person everyone counts on to bring it all together. You enjoy working with people; you love a well-organized plan, and nothing feels better than a day where every piece lands exactly where it should. You keep carriers, customers, and teammates on the same page, stay calm when schedules shift, and follow through on every detail. You’d rather support a winning team than go it alone. Here, every container move needs a plan, and you'll be the one who builds it, communicates it, and makes sure it happens. If organization and teamwork are your strengths, you'll love this seat.

As our Drayage Planner, you plan and schedule every container to move between ports, rail ramps, and warehouses. Your day starts with reviewing container availability, last free days, and cutoffs, then building the plan: matching each move with the right carrier, booking terminal and warehouse appointments, and confirming chassis and equipment. You'll work hand in hand with Carrier Sales, Track & Trace, customers, and terminals, adjusting calmly when plans change and documenting every update. Your planning keeps containers moving and prevents demurrage and per diem charges. You'll need drayage, intermodal, dispatch, or logistics coordination experience, strong organization, clear communication, and comfort with a TMS.

White Star Logistics is a fast-growing logistics company based in New Jersey that has moved freight across the Mexico-U.S. border, throughout the United States, in and out of ports and rail ramps, and on complex special projects since 2015. We're on track to double our revenue in 2027, and we're growing our team by 35% to get there. That growth creates real opportunity: new seats, new responsibilities, and a clear path for high performers. We run the business on EOS, so everyone knows their seat, owns their numbers, and sees the scoreboard every week. Our culture is built on accountability, ongoing training, and protecting our customers' freight like it's our own. If you want to build something, not just fill out a job, White Star is the place.

We're only looking for the most organized team players in drayage: the people who never let a container slip through the cracks. If you want clear processes, a supportive team, and a role where your planning makes a real difference every day, this is your seat.
