Job summary

Steam Logistics, based in Chattanooga, TN, seeks an Enterprise Drayage Operations Specialist to manage shipments in our TMS and coordinate drayage moves for high-volume clients. You will build supplier and customer relationships and optimize workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year logistics experience, strong organizational skills, and proficient MS Office usage; Salesforce familiarity is a plus. This is an in-office role at our Chattanooga location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• 1+ years of logistics experience preferred.
• Proactive, independent, and reliable in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and self-motivation skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Builds shipments in our TMS, schedules container pick-up and delivery appointments, and manages the financial data of the shipments.
• Partner with the Drayage Sales team to facilitate end-to-end drayage moves.
• Builds relationships with truckers and customers; proactive communicator via phone and email follow up.
• Fully knowledgeable of all operational aspects of the TMS and how the workflow is set up to be efficient; suggests process enhancements.
• Communicates solutions when capacity problems arise; ensures LFDS and Port Cuts are prioritized.
• Tracks containers to avoid detention, per diem, storage costs; develops cost-saving solutions.
