Job summary

G-III Apparel Group is seeking a Transportation Associate to help coordinate drayage for containerized freight from ports, rail yards, and airports to our U.S. and Canadian warehouses.

You will assist with tracking and processing containers to ensure timely pickup and delivery, and you will communicate daily with drayage partners, drivers, brokers and internal teams on shipment status. The role requires at least 3 years in drayage logistics, strong knowledge of port operations, proficiency in

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in drayage logistics.
  • Understanding of port operations and container types.
  • Ability to interface with drayage partners, drivers, brokers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing and monitoring the scheduling/dispatching of air shipments and containers to warehouses in the US & Canada.
  • Monitor container locations from port pick-up to final return.
  • Communicate with drayage partners to ensure on-time delivery and avoid demurrage/detention charges.
  • Assist with resolving issues with container damage, holds, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Report and communicate shipment deliveries status to internal teams.
  • Assist with reviewing/drayage and accessorial invoices for accuracy.
  • Research detention invoices and process chargebacks as needed.
