Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced logistics professional to plan, coordinate, and optimize drayage and intermodal shipments in a dynamic U.S. environment.

You will monitor container availability, schedule appointments, and work with dispatchers and terminal managers to allocate resources efficiently. You will analyze transportation data to drive cost reductions, maintain strong carrier relationships, and ensure timely shipment status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in drayage, intermodal logistics, or transportation planning.
• Strong knowledge of intermodal transportation, port operations, and drayage carrier networks.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and load planning software.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and industry compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and optimize drayage and intermodal shipments to meet customer requirements.
• Monitor container availability, appointment scheduling, and port operations to minimize delays.
• Collaborate with dispatchers and terminal managers to allocate equipment and resources effectively.
• Analyze transportation data and trends to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain strong relationships with carriers, rail providers, and port authorities to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate shipment status updates and resolve any service disruptions proactively.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and customer requirements.
• Utilize transportation management system to track and manage shipments.
• Support the billing and documentation process for drayage and intermodal transactions.
• Provide input on process improvements and strategies to enhance operational effectiveness.
