Job summary

Corning Incorporated in North Carolina is seeking a seasoned Draw Engineering leader to establish and execute a project portfolio delivering new products and process capabilities for our optical fiber operations. You will develop technical talent and drive DMAIC/MIE/MEE methodologies to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities include leading a 24x7 manufacturing support, cost optimization, talent development, and guarding intellectual property while aligning with strategic plant objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Draw Engineering department in establishing and executing a project portfolio to deliver new products and process capabilities.
• Develop technical talent through understanding the fibermaking process and DMAIC/MIE/MEE methodologies.
• Drive the plant to be the lowest cost manufacturing location for Color Single Mode Fiber.
• Support daily manufacturing in a 24x7 facility.
• Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent.
• Manage department projects to support plant objectives.
• Champion process control and change management initiatives.
• Protect Corning’s IP and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Engage with R&D and Development to pull in new technologies.
