Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineer-in-Training for our Inland Northwest team with Boise, ID and surrounding locations. You will contribute to hydraulics, drainage, and stormwater design for transportation projects in Idaho and Eastern Washington, under experienced engineers.

Expect mentorship, field data collection, and progression toward Professional Engineer licensure. You will gain hands-on experience with hydrologic modeling, ORD/Civil 3D, GIS, and site visits while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-3 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Interest in hydrology, river/open channel hydraulics, bridge/culvert analysis, scour, and transportation drainage design.
• Exposure to engineering analysis, modeling, GIS, or CAD software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation projects.
• Support 1D/2D hydraulic modeling of rivers, bridges, culverts, and floodplains.
• Assist with bridge/culvert hydraulic evaluations and scour analyses.
• Contribute to open channel design, floodplain analyses, and drainage design.
• Prepare construction plans and quantity calculations using ORD and/or Civil 3D.
• Develop technical memos, reports, and model documentation for review.
