Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking an enthusiastic Drainage Assistant to join the Bristol Depot. This full-time role involves working closely with experienced engineers to conduct surveys of drainage systems, identify issues, and support maintenance strategies.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid UK driving licence and have a keen interest in utilities or civil engineering. This position offers training opportunities, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, and enhanced overtime rates.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
• Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors
• Desire to learn new software

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages and structural defects
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance
• Support CCTV inspections to assess underground pipes
• Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding

Skills

Strong interest in drainage, utilities, or civil engineering

Good communication and teamwork skills

Basic computer skills
