Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a motivated General Operative to support drainage network projects across the Southern Water region. You will carry out surveys, dye testing, and inspections on domestic and commercial properties, recording site information with handheld devices and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role involves outdoor work, collaboration with supervisors and project teams, and occasional call-out duties.

Qualifications

  • Experience in drainage, sewer networks, utilities, construction or similar operations.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety and safe working practices.
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, use initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • NRSWA Streetworks accreditation is essential; Confined Space and Asbestos Awareness are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out drainage and connectivity survey activities, including dye testing and inspections across properties.
  • Gather and record site information using handheld devices and complete relevant documentation.
  • Conduct daily site and vehicle safety checks and support project objectives.
  • Work outdoors in varied environments and participate in occasional call-out rota.
