Job summary

Factory NYC, a Brooklyn-based fabrication shop, seeks a full-time Draftsperson to draft shop drawings, 3D models, and CNC-ready files for approved projects. You will coordinate drafting information flow with Project Management and Production to ensure clear communication and reliable delivery.

Responsibilities include creating build drawings, maintaining the drafting schedule, organizing Rhino files, and submitting revisions for approval.

Qualifications

• 3 years of drafting for fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience in fabrication or construction industry preferred.
• College degree or equivalent drafting background required.

Responsibilities

• Create build drawings to project needs as directed by Drafting Manager/PMs.
• Maintain the Drafting Schedule as set by the Drafting Manager.
• Create and organize Rhino files and documents.
• Coordinate drafting with Drafting Manager to align with build methods and communicate procedures.
• Submit drawings to PMs for approval and revisions.
• Assess material issues or structural problems.
• Send CNC-ready files to CNC operators and communicate for efficient cutting.
