Job summary

GES - Global Experience Specialists is seeking a CAD Drafter to produce floor plans and layouts for trade shows and events using AutoCAD Release 2018. You will ensure the show design is correctly drawn, follows client specifications, and complies with Fire Department codes, with timely submissions and approvals.

The role requires at least two years of drafting experience with AutoCAD 2018 or newer, proficiency in Excel and Word, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting

• Convention and Trade Show experience preferred, but not required; training provided.
• Proficient computer skills including Excel and Word.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce floor plans and drawings for GES trade shows using AutoCAD Release 2018.
• Ensure show/layout design follows client specifications and is compliant with Fire Department codes.
• Submit floor plans to Fire Department jurisdictions in a timely manner and obtain approval before show opening.
• Maintain up-to-date facility drawings in assigned cities/regions.
• Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
• Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
• Maintain revisions of drawings and post updated versions to internal drive.

• Ensures the show/event layout is properly designed and drawn according to specifications outlined by Client Services Manager and Client.
• Ensures that all Fire Department codes and regulations are followed on each floor plan.
• Ensure all floor plans are not only submitted to Fire Department jurisdictions in a timely manner, but also ensure they are approved before show opening.
• Ensure all facilities are kept current and accurate in assigned cities/regions.
• Maintains drawings of all convention and meeting room facilities assigned.
• Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
• Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
• Maintain all revisions of project drawings, posting the updated drawing to the required internal drive when completed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position

Work Environment

• May require overtime during busy periods
• Work performed in an office setting – sitting at a computer
• 90% Work may involve repetitive motion (i.e. constant keying, using fingers or grasping of objects).
• May be required to lift and maneuver 20 lb rolls of paper for the plotters
