Job summary

Grand Valley State University invites applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor to serve as the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. The start date is August 2026, and the position is full-time, 12-month, tenure-stream.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for curriculum, accreditation (CAPTE), and program development, while advancing teaching, scholarship, and service across the health professions

Qualifications

• Post-professional DPT; eligible for Associate/Full Professor.
• Experience in administration, teaching, scholarship and service.
• Current Michigan PT license or ability to obtain one.
• Strong collaborative and collegial relationships with peers and students.
• Excellent time management and leadership skills.
• Supportive of equity and inclusion goals in the profession.
• Committed to university/college/program mission and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Administration: oversee program accreditation, budget, admissions, assessment, and curriculum activities; support faculty development.
• Teaching: instruction in clinical area and advising students.
• Scholarship: engage in independent scholarly activity and direct graduate research.
• Service: participate in college/university/community/professional service and represent the DPT program.
