Job summary

Oakland University’s Physical Therapy Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Human Movement Science beginning August 15, 2026. The candidate will contribute to teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum and develop a program of scholarship supported by clinical partnerships, research infrastructure, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan, or eligibility with licensure within one year of hire.
• CAPTE-recognized terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS, or equivalent).
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in physical therapy.
• Teaching experience in an academic physical therapy program or potential to teach effectively.
• Evidence of scholarly activity or potential to develop a sustained research agenda.
• Commitment to collaboration and advancing the mission of the Physical Therapy Program.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum.
• Develop a program of scholarship supported by clinical partnerships and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with School of Health Sciences and mentor students and junior faculty.
