Job summary

The University of Alabama invites applications for the position of Associate Program Director and faculty in its developing Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Reporting to the Program Director, the person will provide operational and academic leadership across curriculum design, assessment, accreditation readiness, and program growth, while teaching in areas of expertise and mentoring students.

Qualifications

• Terminal doctoral degree (academic or clinical) with certification as applicable.
• Licensed physical therapist in the U.S. and eligible for Alabama licensure.
• Minimum five years in physical therapy education with leadership experience.
• Evidence of curriculum development, program assessment, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day academic operations and curriculum sequencing across the DPT program.
• Advance accreditation readiness and CAPTE candidacy activities.
• Coordinate student progression, advising, remediation, and success initiatives.
• Represent the program with internal and external partners and mentor faculty and students.
