Job summary

City of Villa Rica seeks a Main Street Manager to coordinate the Downtown Villa Rica Main Street Program and support economic vitality, appearance, promotion, and activation of Downtown Villa Rica.

Under the Director of Community & Economic Development, you will liaise with downtown merchants, property owners, and stakeholders to deliver annual work plans, reports, and events. Strong communication and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, economic or community development, marketing, communications, planning, historic preservation, or a related field.
• Experience working with businesses, community organizations, appointed boards, downtown development, economic development, Main Street programs, or municipal government is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, project-management, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to attend evening meetings, community events, and occasional weekend activities as required.

Responsibilities

• Main Street Administration & Accreditation - Manage the City’s Main Street program; maintain records, work plans, performance data, and accreditation documentation; submit reports on deadlines; complete professional training.
• Business & Merchant Engagement - Communicate with downtown merchants, businesses, and property owners; conduct outreach; identify needs; connect businesses with resources; maintain contact lists.
• Economic Vitality - Support retention, expansion, and recruitment; track vacancies and properties; assist entrepreneurs and downtown locations.
• Board & DDA Coordination - Provide staff support to the Main Street Advisory Board; prepare reports and materials; assist with work plans.
• Marketing, Promotion & Events - Coordinate downtown marketing, communications, sponsorships, and events to increase visitation and activity.
• Design & Placemaking - Support beautification, historic preservation, signage, and activation of public spaces.
• Budget & Program Management - Develop and administer the Main Street budget; pursue grants and partnerships; ensure accessibility of records.
• Performance & Communication - Track results; provide updates to the Director; report indicators.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
