Job summary

Valdosta Police Department seeks a dynamic Coordinator to drive the downtown Main Street Program and CVDA initiatives in Valdosta, GA. You will assist in outreach, plan development, and administration to support a vibrant downtown district.

The role requires knowledge of Main Street policies, event planning, and budget management, with 1–2 years' related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. On-site position with community liaison duties and volunteer coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, social media, event coordination or basic accounting; degree preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years experience in similar role or apprenticeship/internship; able to understand basic principles.
• Knowledge of Main Street Program policies and procedures; strong PR skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assigned operations of the Main Street Program and CVDA.
• Assist in public awareness and educational initiatives for downtown.
• Support work plan development and execution aligned with program goals.
• Handle program administration: purchasing, records, budgeting, reporting.
• Serve as liaison with downtown stakeholders including owners, agencies, and media.
• Build relationships with local and state agencies, businesses, nonprofits, and schools.
• Coordinate activities of Main Street and CVDA committees; align efforts across groups.
• Assist in identifying resources and partnerships for downtown revitalization.
• Arrange logistics for events: food trucks, vendors, entertainment; attend events as POC.
• Maintain progress tracking systems for downtown program; track businesses and spaces.
• Provide admin support for CVDA Board meetings; prepare materials and minutes.
• Manage Main Street webpage and social media; assist volunteer recruitment.
