Job summary

City of Valdosta is seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee the Main Street Program and Central Valdosta Development Authority (CVDA). The role emphasizes coordination of events, marketing efforts, and community relations to revitalize downtown Valdosta.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of marketing, event planning, budgeting, and strong written and oral communication skills. Bachelor's degree preferred, with 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, event coordination or related field.
• Knowledge of Main Street Program policies and procedures is preferred.
• Experience in marketing, public relations or social media is advantageous.
• Budget management and basic accounting experience are desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations of the Main Street Program and CVDA as assigned.
• Develop and conduct public awareness and educational programs for the downtown district.
• Assist in implementing work plans and managing program administration tasks.
• Serve as liaison with downtown businesses and local/state agencies.
• Support event planning, vendor bookings, and volunteer recruitment.
• Maintain program records, budgets, meeting materials, and minutes.
