Job summary

Plantible Foods in Austin, TX, is seeking a Project Engineer—Downstream, Capital Projects to own engineering and field execution of systems that receive harvested biomass and convert it into high-quality products.

You will sit between process experts and the design/build teams, coordinating biomass prep, extraction, separation, filtration, purification, concentration, drying, CIP, and related utilities. Expect significant onsite activity during construction and startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline is required.
• Experience with hygienic process systems and CIP is essential.
• Strong ability to read and challenge PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering and field execution of downstream systems (biomass reception to final product).
• Coordinate disciplines across process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, controls, and utilities.
• Develop basis of design, equipment lists, and design reviews with SMEs and external partners.
• Manage vendor drawings, FAT/SAT, and interface with broader facility design.
• Lead commissioning, startup, and handoff to Operations and Maintenance.
