Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) for Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. This role supports adult patients on heart monitors, providing essential nursing support and observation during recovery after surgery or illness.

Responsibilities include basic care, vital signs, mobility help, and telemetry lead maintenance. Entry-level NAs or CNAs are welcome; sign-on bonus of $1,500 available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• BVP certificate current or within 6 months of hire.
• CNA certificate preferred.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Vital signs monitoring: measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Mobility assistance: help patients get in/out of bed and move with devices as needed.
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and functioning; alerts to nurses as needed.
• Observation: monitor for changes and promptly notify nursing staff.

We are seeking aMedical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified), also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele PCU Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care,monitoringvital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role inobservingpatients, reporting changes, andmaintaininga safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

• Basic patient care:help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating

• Vital signs monitoring:take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation

• Mobilityassistance:help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.

• EKG lead maintenance:ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified NursingAssistant’s(CNA’s)don'tusually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off andimmediatelyalert registered nurses

• Observation:monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology

• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate, preferred

• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office, preferred
