Job summary

The Freeman Company in Dallas, TX is seeking a DOT Compliance Supervisor who will own day-to-day FMCSA and DOT regulatory compliance for drivers and equipment. You will act as DER for the drug and alcohol program and work with branches to audit records and prepare for audits.

With 5+ years in motor carrier compliance, you’ll monitor hours of service, DVIRs, and CSA data, while partnering with the Safety team to improve training and processes across locations. This is a hybrid in-office role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited college preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience preferred in motor carrier transportation compliance.
• Working knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 40, 382, 383, 390–393, 395, and 396.
• Direct experience supporting an FMCSA compliance review or audit.
• Experience administering a DOT drug and alcohol program, including the Clearinghouse.
• Experience with fleet management, ELD, and telematics systems.
• Experience managing compliance for drivers and equipment across multiple locations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Build and audit driver qualification files for all drivers and verify documents.
• Determine and document each driver’s qualification status and make safety decisions.
• Maintain expiration tracking for CDLs and medical certificates; renewals prior to lapse.
• Oversee testing, drug/alcohol program administration, and DER duties as needed.
• Audit third-party vendors, collection sites, MROs, and random testing processes.
• Audit hours of service, DVIRs, and maintenance records; address violations.
• Serve as system administrator for fleet management software and telematics.
• Prepare for FMCSA audits and state audits via mock audits and readiness.
• Monitor CSA/STAR metrics and communicate trends; support process improvements.
