Job summary

ADAMS AND ASSOCIATES INC is seeking a Residential Advisor to direct and coordinate activities for dormitory residents on the assigned shift. The role ensures safety, student discipline, and proper records, while collaborating with counselors and staff to support student success.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of Job Corps or related program experience; a valid in-state driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year Job Corps or related program experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees preferred.
• Valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and control dormitory conditions; evaluate situations and conditions and make decisions or recommendations.
• Assist in training and evaluation of residential staff.
• Perform administrative duties for assigned shift (passes, leaves, evaluations, reports, etc.).
• Conduct residential advisor duties to ensure safety and proper student behavior.
• Communicate with families by mail/phone to resolve problems and ensure student well‑being.
• Coordinate dormitory activities, entertainment, competitions, and unit courts.
• Inspect dormitory areas and arrange maintenance as needed; direct dorm patrol and cleanup.
• Requisition supplies for dorm living and safety.
• Arrange student visits to counselors and discuss student issues with counselors.
• Participate in orientation activities and social skills training.
• Maintain student records and update information system regularly.
• Provide positive, quality customer service to students and staff.
• Overtime may be required as directed; regular attendance expected.
• Support and enforce Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Promote Career Success Standards through mentoring and interventions.
• Other duties as assigned.
