Job summary

Lift, Inc. in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Door Technician to install, repair, troubleshoot, and assemble commercial and industrial door systems.

This full-time position offers hands-on work, opportunities for growth, and a path toward long-term career with a 100% employee-owned company. You will travel to customer sites, diagnose issues, measure, replace hardware, coordinate with project managers, and complete safety inspections.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Certifications for forklift, telehandler and MEWP preferred.
  • Minimum two years' mechanical, welding, electrical, or hydraulic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, troubleshoot, and construct commercial/industrial door systems.
  • Diagnose issues at customer sites and perform repairs or replacements.
  • Take measurements, replace hardware, and adjust door components.
  • Coordinate with project managers and dispatchers, document work.
  • Complete safety inspections and submit work orders electronically.

DO YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS?
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift, telehandler, and MEWP certifications (Lift will certify)
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant mechanical, welding, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience
  • Ability to use electronic devices, applications, and digital documentation systems
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Professional communication skills and follow-through
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work
  • Ability to meet all physical requirements of the position, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, operating equipment, and working in warehouse environments

Preferred candidates will have experience with commercial door installations, carpentry, or metal fabrication; the ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications; strong mechanical aptitude; attention to detail; and a willingness to cross-train in dock and door equipment installation and maintenance.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS OUR DOOR TECHNICIAN?

As a Door Technician, you'll spend your days solving problems, building solutions, and helping customers keep their facilities operating safely and efficiently. You'll travel to commercial and industrial customer locations to diagnose issues, inspect doors and hardware, identify failures, and perform repairs or replacements on everything from metal and wood doors to fire-rated and specialty systems. Throughout the day, you'll take measurements, make adjustments, replace frames, hinges, locks, and closers, communicate recommendations with customers, coordinate with project managers and dispatchers, assist with loading dock equipment service when needed, document inventory and parts usage, complete safety inspections, and submit work orders electronically. Every day brings new challenges, new environments, and the satisfaction of delivering quality craftsmanship that customers can rely on.
