Job summary

Vortex Doors is seeking Service Technicians to join our team of door industry professionals. You will install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial doors and related hardware, ensuring safety and quality workmanship. We welcome applicants with door experience or those new to the field.

Full-time position with daytime shifts, potential overtime, and on-call hours. Valid driver’s license required; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate hand/power tools is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in the commercial door service industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations involving fractions and reading a tape measure.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair a variety of commercial doors using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair door-related issues such as springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.
• Install and configure door hardware like locks, handles, closers, and access control systems.
• Ensure doors meet safety and building codes and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes and solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with doors and communicate cost-effective solutions.
• Perform quality checks to ensure installations and repairs meet company standards.
