Job summary

Clayton is hiring a Layup Operator to perform Feeder, Panel Flip, Door Build and Sorter duties in our Morristown, TN facility. You will rotate through each station, building 15 stacks of 30 doors, while maintaining quality and pace to meet the daily schedule.

We seek reliable team players who can read tickets, measure parts with a tape, and keep areas clean. Full-time role with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Review Traveler Ticket to verify correct door size and stile size.
• Conduct visual inspection of door parts and ensure each part is free of defects (Stile, Rail, Lock Block, Core).
• Ensure consistent feeding of parts through feeder and maintain Top Door Builder pace.
• Adhere to the daily Production Building Schedule.
• Keep work area clean at the end of each shift.
• Panel Flip: check door skins for defects and maintain pace with Door Builders.
• Door Build: assemble Door Skins, Stile, Rail, Lock Block, Core and verify correct part positions.
• Sorter: inspect parts for defects, remove scrap, and record on tracking document.
