Job summary

LaForce in Green Bay, WI is seeking a hands-on Door Conversion Technician to transform raw materials into finished hollow metal, stainless steel, and wood doors.

You’ll work on the shop floor with welders, routers, grinders, and painting, read shop orders and drawings, operate forklifts, and collaborate to improve processes while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Read shop drawings and interpret shop specs.
• Welding or woodworking experience preferred; training available.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Door Conversion Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our production floor - transforming raw materials into fully prepped, custom-fit hollow metal, stainless steel, and wood doors. Every day brings something new as you:

• Customize and prep doors with hardware, glass kits, lites, and sizing modifications.
• Interpret shop orders, templates, and drawings to bring our designs to life.
• Work with a variety of tools: welding, routing, grinding, sanding, and painting.
• Operate forklifts and manage materials across the shop.
• Collaborate with teammates and contribute ideas for process improvement.

You’ll Use and Learn

• Arc welders, grinders, sanders, band saws, routers, plasma cutters, and more.
• Techniques in glazing, mortising, painting, and even light fabrication.
