Job summary

LaForce in Wisconsin is seeking a Door Conversion Technician to transform raw materials into prepped hollow metal, stainless steel, and wood doors on our production floor. You will customize doors with hardware, glass kits, lites, and size modifications to meet customer specs.

This hands-on, safety-focused role requires reading shop drawings, working with welding, routing, grinding, sanding, and painting, plus operating forklifts and managing materials.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills.
• Able to read technical drawings and shop specs.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
• Team-oriented with a focus on safety, quality and accuracy.

What You'll Do

As a Door Conversion Technician, you'll be at the heart of our production floor - transforming raw materials into fully prepped, custom-fit hollow metal, stainless steel, and wood doors. Every day brings something new as you:

• Customize and prep doors with hardware, glass kits, lites, and sizing modifications.
• Interpret shop orders, templates, and drawings to bring our designs to life.
• Work with a variety of tools: welding, routing, grinding, sanding, and painting.
• Operate forklifts and manage materials across the shop.
• Collaborate with teammates and contribute ideas for process improvement.

You'll Use and Learn

• Arc welders, grinders, sanders, band saws, routers, plasma cutters, and more.
• Techniques in glazing, mortising, painting, and even light fabrication.
