Job description

A growing commercial door and hardware contractor is looking to add an experienced Door Service Estimator / Project Manager to its team in Central Florida.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in commercial doors, hardware, estimating and project coordination who can manage service work and smaller projects from the initial site visit through estimating, material procurement, installation and final billing.

The role will focus on repair, replacement and small project work across commercial doors, frames, hardware and related systems, working closely with customers, contractors, suppliers and field teams. Projects will typically range from smaller service calls to approximately $150,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to assess existing conditions, take measurements, identify hardware and establish the scope of work.
• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial door, frame and hardware repairs, replacements and small projects.
• Read Division 8 drawings and hardware schedules, completing takeoffs and pricing work appropriately.
• Follow up on submitted proposals, answer customer queries and help convert opportunities into awarded work.
• Order materials and coordinate with suppliers, technicians and installation teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Manage project schedules, customer communication, change orders and job documentation through completion.
• Ensure completed work is properly documented and ready for invoicing.
• Build relationships with general contractors, facility managers, commercial customers and suppliers to generate repeat business.
• Monitor project costs and margins while maintaining accurate records of estimates, awarded work and active projects.

Experience Required

• At least five years of experience within commercial doors and hardware, including estimating service work and smaller projects.
• Strong knowledge of hollow-metal and wood doors, frames, closers, exit devices, hinges, locks, operators and storefront door systems.
• Experience reading Division 8 drawings and hardware schedules.
• Background preparing estimates, sourcing materials and coordinating installation through to completion.
• Comfortable using Bluebeam and estimating or project management software.
• Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs independently.
• Existing relationships with commercial contractors, facilities teams or suppliers across Central Florida would be beneficial.
