Job summary

San Diego Blood Bank is seeking a Donor Technician 1 - CVDC in Carmel Valley Donor Center. Starting pay is $21.25 per hour and full-time hours with a flexible schedule. Prior phlebotomy license is preferred but not required; paid training will be provided.

The role focuses on donor safety, product integrity, and compassionate donor care under RN supervision, with emphasis on confidentiality and adherence to SOPs. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certification preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure donor safety and the safety, potency and purity of all products collected.
• Assist with donor rescheduling and retention through outstanding customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor, patient, and organizational information.
• Under RN supervision, handle donor safety and documentation of adverse events and ECMS as directed.
• Follow SOPs and update RN/Team Leader on necessary changes.
• Maintain professional communication and participate in continuing education.
