Job summary

San Diego Blood Bank in San Diego, CA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy‑friendly candidate to gain hands-on experience with paid training. No license required, though a phlebotomy certification is preferred.

The role focuses on Donor safety, product quality, and exceptional donor care in a fast-paced environment. Under RN supervision, you will help with donor procedures, manage adverse reactions per SOP, support scheduling and retention of donors, and maintain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred but not essential.
• Bilingual in English/Arabic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and safety standards are consistently met.
• Assist with donor safety and the safety, potency and purity of all products collected.
• Under RN supervision, manage adverse reactions and documentation, escalate as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and organizational information.
• Communicate effectively with management and contribute to donor retention initiatives.
• Follow SOPs, participate in ongoing education, and support operations as needed.
