Job summary

The Salvation Army in the Great Lakes Division seeks a Donor Relations Associate to manage a portfolio of Tier-C donors and build reciprocal relationships with individuals and families.

Responsibilities include coordinating cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, working with the Development Department, and traveling locally as needed. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relationship building or related work experience.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to create proposals and marketing material for donors.
• Proven expertise in developing and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals, including executives and wealthy donors.
• Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 250–300 Tier-C donors.
• Identify major gift donor prospects among Tier-C donors and steward donors.
• Coordinate cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for Tier-C donors.
• Travel within local community and throughout the Great Lakes Division as needed.
• Meet weekly with the Senior Donor Relations Director for accountability and strategy.
• Collaborate with leaders, colleagues and Development Department to achieve goals.
• Capture donor information in the donor database (interests, relationships, capacity).
• Communicate Salvation Army mission to donors effectively.
