Job summary

Oakland Zoo is seeking an Individual Giving Coordinator to support fundraising programs that solicit gifts from individuals for the Zoo’s operating budget and capital initiatives.

The role executes strategies to increase donor investment and further the Zoo’s mission in animal wellbeing, conservation and education. Strong event planning and data analysis skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in fundraising.
• Experience in event planning and implementation required.
• Self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and PowerPoint.
• Strong donor service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Zoo’s annual fundraising events.
• Support multi-channel donor appeals and campaigns.
• Coordinate donor acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Track and analyze donor data to support giving programs.
• Collaborate with teams on donor recognition programs.
• Project manage the Zoo’s annual Impact Report.
• Fulfill Friends of the Wild program donations ($1,000+).
• Support onsite, print and digital donor recognition initiatives.
• Plan cultivation and stewardship events with the team.
• Liaise with Zoo vendors and contractors for fundraising activities.
• Perform related duties as required.
