Job summary

Houston Food Bank is seeking a Donor Services Specialist to address donor inquiries via email and phone, manage acknowledgement letters, and maintain Raiser’s Edge data integrity. You will also oversee matching gift portals, donor reports, and related communications.

This role requires discretion with confidential information, strong organization, and excellent written and verbal communication. Bilingual Spanish is preferred, and nonprofit experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in an administrative customer service role.
• Experience handling phone and email inquiries and providing information.
• 1+ years in nonprofit development preferred.
• Proficient ten-key pad speed and accuracy (must pass assessment).
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Donor Services emails within 24 hours.
• Answer the Donor Services phone line and return calls within 24 hours.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle donor information with discretion.
• Manage donor acknowledgement letters and mailings.
• Maintain data integrity in Raiser’s Edge and support portal updates.
• Oversee matching gift portals and donor reports.
• Coordinate with the Donor Services team on gift entry timing.
• Maintain office supplies and serve as main contact for meter machine.
• Create and update donor correspondence letters.
• Manage volunteer onsite projects.
• Maintain donor services operations documents and best practices.
• Assist with uploading information to Raiser’s Edge.
• Support reporting and communications with other departments.
