Job summary

Star of Hope in Houston, TX seeks an Advancement Operations Specialist to support fiscal integrity and donor stewardship. The role centers on gift processing, account reconciliation, and timely financial reporting using Raiser's Edge NXT.

You will collaborate with the Director of Advancement Operations to provide accurate data for fundraising and organizational planning, while ensuring compliance with donor intent and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT for gift processing and reconciliation.
• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations or accounting preferred.
• Familiarity with fund accounting and donor-restricted funds.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage processing and reconciliation of gifts, pledges, grants and restricted funds.
• Enter, track, report and reconcile gift activity with the general ledger.
• Prepare financial reports, fund statements and supporting schedules.
• Produce fundraising progress reports, data analysis and dashboards.
• Process vendor payments, reimbursements, contracts with proper controls.
• Assist with audits, tax reporting and compliance as needed.
• Manage gift acknowledgments and donor stewardship communications.
• Collaborate with Advancement, Finance and program teams on reporting and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and drive process improvements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field
