Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking qualified professionals to support donor evaluation and care at our plasma center. You will assess donor suitability for automated pheresis, provide basic emergency medical care, and interview donors to obtain medical histories necessary for donation decisions.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, advising on donor eligibility, and escalating complex medical issues to licensed physicians as required. This role emphasizes patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff following licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Consult with the Center Medical Director and staff on donor suitability and related questions.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical situations to physicians as required.
