Job summary

St. Matthew’s House in Naples, FL seeks a Development Officer to cultivate and steward a portfolio of 150–250 donors. You will build relationships through data-driven strategies, visits, calls, and personalized communications to sustain and grow giving.

You will work with the Director of Individual Giving to design donor strategies, prepare compelling proposals, and advance gifts across the philanthropic lifecycle to support the organization’s mission in Southwest Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3+ years in fundraising or donor relations required.
• Strong ability to cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors.
• Experience planning and implementing development initiatives.
• Proficiency with fundraising CRMs (Virtuous, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP).
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of 150–250 donors with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
• Identifies and cultivates prospects using visits, calls, notes and impact communications.
• Qualifies new prospects from direct mail upgrades, events, referrals and research.
• Achieves donor retention, upgrades and revenue goals for assigned relationships.
• Maintains complete and timely CRM records and collaborates with giving leadership.
