Job summary

St. Matthew’s House in Southwest Florida seeks a Development Officer (Mid-Level) to cultivate a portfolio of mid-level donors and move them toward major gifts. You will use AI-assisted outreach, phone, email, and handwritten notes to deepen relationships and drive revenue.

With collaboration from the Director of Individual Gifts, you will manage 500–750 donors, track retention, and provide timely CRM records. Local travel ~20–30% is expected; evenings/weekends for events may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; at least two to three years of related fundraising or donor relations experience.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors in a portfolio-based environment.
• Experience planning and implementing development initiatives aligned with organizational strategy.
• Proficiency with a fundraising CRM (Virtuous, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP or equivalent).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with leadership, prospects, donors and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of 500–750 mid-level donors with touchpoint plans and revenue goals.
• Cultivates and stewards donors using AI-assisted outreach, phone, handwritten notes, email, and impact communications.
• Documents qualification notes for new prospects within 30 days.
• Tracks donor retention and year-over-year revenue in CRM.
• Coordinates with Development team to advance qualified donors toward major gifts.
