Job summary

Butler University is seeking a Data Steward for Gifts & Records to ensure accurate gift processing and data integrity in support of fundraising efforts. The role requires attention to detail, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Information Management, or related field.
• At least 1 year of progressive data management experience in nonprofit/higher education.
• High data-entry accuracy and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams and departments.

Responsibilities

• Process all gift transactions accurately and on time, including complex gifts and pledge activity.
• Maintain accurate constituent biographical and giving records in the Advancement database.
• Identify and create process improvements for Gifts & Records and Advancement Services teams.
• Create and maintain documentation for gift processing and data management procedures.
• Analyze gift and donor data to resolve discrepancies and ensure platforms function properly.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on biographical data and gift-related inquiries.
• Ensure Gifts & Records policies align with IRS requirements and CASE standards.
• Collaborate with Advancement and Finance to record, deposit, and acknowledge gifts.
• Provide prompt communications to donors regarding giving history and current gifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
