Job summary

Athey Creek is seeking an Accounting Assistant - Contributions to join our finance team. You will process and record various types of financial contributions, support reconciliations, and help ensure accurate donor records.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of accounting experience, an associate's degree or coursework in accounting, and solid Excel skills. You will work with QuickBooks/Sage Intacct and collaborate across departments while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles: debits/credits, journal entries, general ledger.
• Experience reconciling bank, credit card, or cash accounts.
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, sorting and filtering, basic pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Able to learn new systems and handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Accurately process and record various types of financial contributions.
• Support credit card transaction processing and reconciliations.
• Support and ensure the secure collection of tithes and offerings.
• Assist with the online filing of records.
• Assist with preparing and distributing annual giving statements.
• Respond to donor inquiries about contributions and giving statements with care and professionalism.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or documentation issues.
• Assist with month-end close tasks as directed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial data and donor information.
• Demonstrate strong time management to meet deadlines.
• Participate in special projects and complete other duties as assigned.
• Engage as part of ateam with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
