Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is hiring for a Donor Center role focused on evaluating donor eligibility for automated plasmapheresis, administering approved immunizations, and providing limited emergency care where permitted.

The position requires knowledge of SOPs, cGMP, and regulatory guidelines, with training as outlined in SOPs. The role includes training as a Donor Center Technician I, mentoring medical staff, and ensuring center compliance while supporting a donor-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Physician, LPN, or RN: Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program.
  • EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced/Paramedic: Certification or license as an emergency medical technician, if allowable.
  • One year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center settings preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • State-issued authorization or license to perform moderate complexity testing.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
  • Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).
  • Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.
  • Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders.
  • Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments.
  • Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.
  • Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development.
  • Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor‑focused environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
