Job summary

Memorial Blood Centers in Minnesota seeks a phlebotomist to screen donors, collect blood, and provide outstanding donor care. The role supports fixed donor centers or mobile blood drives across the Twin Cities, with training provided. The schedule is variable, including weekends, and compensation includes shift differentials.

Responsibilities include vitals assessment, phlebotomy, and documentation, plus participation in staff meetings and ongoing training to uphold safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: phlebotomy, nursing assistant, medical assistant, EMT or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document vitals of presenting donors to determine eligibility.
• Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) in accordance with applicable policies and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and pre/post donation care as needed.
• Assist with the setup of community blood drives including safe loading/unloading of mobile units.
• Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning.
• Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
