Job summary

Global Roles is seeking a Donor Center Phlebotomist to assist with all steps of the blood collection process at fixed site locations. You will help create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors and follow safety procedures to ensure lifesaving blood donations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 1 year of customer service in a public setting.
• Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift/push/pull heavy weights, sit/stand long hours, irregular shifts.
• Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.

Job description

The Donor Center Phlebotomist position involves assisting with every step of the blood collection process at fixed site locations, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following safety procedures to collect lifesaving blood donations. Paid training is provided, and no prior medical experience is required, though phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming back again and again.
• Be detailed oriented all day, every day to ensure that the blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.

Requirements

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.
• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is preferred.
• Prior leadership experience is preferred.
