Job summary

LifeStream Blood Bank seeks a phlebotomist to conduct donor registration, interviews, basic health assessments, and Whole Blood phlebotomies. You will monitor donor recovery, handle adverse reactions, and ensure accurate documentation.

You will manage equipment QC, assist with donor recruitment for Blood Bank programs, and work at mobile or fixed draw locations as needed. Required: High School Diploma or GED; CPR; phlebotomy certification preferred; 1–2 years customer service experience may be

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification preferred or required per policy.
• Phlebotomy training or certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to donors and internal customers.
• Register donors and collect basic medical history and health information.
• Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and hematocrit/hemoglobin checks.
• Prepare pre-donation samples for testing.
• Conduct phlebotomy for whole blood collection and directed donations.
• Monitor donor recovery and manage adverse donor reactions.
• Prepare blood units for transport to the laboratory.
• Document donor procedures, QC, and cleaning records accurately.
• Operate and troubleshoot donor processing machines as trained.
• Recruit donors for Blood Bank programs and events.
• Work at multiple draw locations as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policy.
